Southern Ontario: Home to the major portion of Canadians with Toronto being the largest city. One of Canada's major attractions at Niagara Falls attracts visitors from across the world. The Blue Jays of Major League Baseball brought two championships to the first city outside of the United States. A major bicycling trail stretches along the waterfront of Lake Ontario from Brockville to Niagara Falls where one can view the city life as well as scenes in Niagara and the eastern countryside.

The Haldimand tract was given to the Six Nations (Haudenosaunee) of the Grand River in 1784 and comprises 6 miles on either bank, for the whole length of the Grand River, or Guelph where because of its low crime rates, clean environment and generally high standard of living, Guelph is consistently rated as one of the country`s best places to live, or Stratford that was first settled by Europeans in 1832, the townsite and the river were named after Stratford-upon-Avon, England, or Toronto that as Canada's economic capital and one of the top financial centres in the world, Toronto is considered an alpha world city by the Globalization and World Cities (GaWC) study group, or Niagara Fallsthat is dominated by the Niagara Falls, a world famous set of two large waterfalls on the Niagara River and benefits from the fact that both falls, the American and Horseshoe, can be best seen from the Canadian side of the river, or Oshawa where the automobile industry, specifically the Canadian division of General Motors Company, known as General Motors Canada, has always been at the forefront of Oshawa`s economy, or Kingston that was originally a First Nations settlement called "Katarowki," (Ga-ta-row-key), growing European exploration in the 17th Century made it an important trading post. In order to control the fur trade, French explorer LaSalle founded Fort Frontenac in 1673, or Ottawa where the city is located on the south bank of the Ottawa River in the eastern portion of Southern Ontario. Ottawa borders Gatineau, Quebec, located on the north bank of the Ottawa River; together they form the National Capital Region.
