Drive Pittsburg to West Virginia Border on I79

Pennsylvania

Trip Planning logo

From the wooded hiking and biking trails and rushing waters of Ohiopyle State Park to the exciting nightlife of Pittsburgh, this is an inviting, friendly place to explore and relax.

John's Comments After Pittsburgh the mountains/hills become much more prominent. The road itself follows the lie of the land, which means many curves.
John`s Recollections - 2009

From Pittsburgh south, you will first notice the many expressways and exits to smaller towns and cities. Continuing on Interstate 79 to West Virginia the highway follows the lay of the land, which means many curves and at times driving on the tops of many of the rolling hills. Quite scenic but many may not like the ups and downs and the curvy nature of the road.
