John`s Recollections - 2009 Have travelled this road many times, from a two laner to now a four lane divided highway. It still remains one of my favorites, as the parks and scenery along the way are superb. Driving can be minimized to a couple of hours but if you are anything like myself be prepared for at least a couple of more to view the scenic wild rivers and stop by at one of the parks ( New River Gorge Bridge is my favorite ).
