Oregon Trail - Nebraska
The adventurous people who wanted to open up the northwest and make new homesteads came through St. Louis, appropriately called 'the gateway to the west" and travelled along the Platte and North Platte rivers toward their destination in Oregon. This became known as the Oregon Trail. One of the most prominent landmarks was Chimney Rock, visible for 40 miles and was a guide for the travellers, just like our Inukshut guide is intended to be your guide.
