Upper Florida Keys Drive-by

The highway here is double laned in both directions but not too much further south there is only one lane each way. There are many roadside venues and this drive-by is representative of the entire trip. Plan on stopping at one of the roadside restaurants or pull over often at the many scenic areas along the road.

John`s Recollections - 2009 There is a lot to see on the drive down, which in most cases means many stops. Many restaurants and mini parks provide excellent breaks to extend the time and also allow for pictures. Most of the road is two-lane but near Marathon there is a long stretch of four lane traffic. If you are driving be prepared to spend a good 4-6 hours to travel from Homestead to Key West.
