Gamboa Resort, Panama - The Drive

Trip Planning logo

Not far from Panama City, yet the scenery to get there is terrific. The drive to Gamboa (about 20-30 miles) gives you the opportunity to see the countryside. An excellent expressway begins the trip through rough terrain, then it is followed by a two lane highway thru a very scenic rainforest that runs along the Panama Canal. The Bridge of the Americas and the Summit golf course are two spots that one may wish to spend more time discovering.

John`s Recollections - 2009

The drive to the resort ( taxi ) as you left the city was on a very impressive four lane highway and then a country highway ( well maintained ) that went thru picturesque rainforests, past gorgeous golf courses and then approached the Panama Canal near the resort.
