Casco Viejo - Peninsula, Vendors, Scenes, Music
Panama City, Panama

Trip Planning logo

The Peninsula at Casco Viejo actually is a small strip of land that protrudes into the Panama Bay. At the end you are able to see local vendors selling their crafts, have excellent views of the bay itself and if you are lucky you may see some local Panamanians showing their musical skills. This location provides a good vantage point to see the many ships awaiting the transit from the Pacific Ocean to the Panama Canal.

John`s Recollections - 2009

This was a favorite walk. Took an hour to walk 500 yards. Scenery, buying various goods, and finally having minstrels display their skills made for a good time. Particulary impressed with the many ships awaiting and entering the Panama Canal. Later we were able to see them at the Miraflores Locks and the Amador Causeway much closer.
