On the top of the World
Well not really, but it sure does feel that way. Travel experiences are usually what you make of them, however just plain luck does mean a lot. We decided to take the Cog Railway trip up the mountain and our random generated seats just happened to be the last row on the last car. For the entire trip we were treated with a non obstructed view of where we were coming from and then on the way back to where we were going. Truly, I could not have asked for more. Now, I will forever recommend this trip, but it was not just the very, very, scenic ride. Views from the top are also unobstructed as crushed rock is your base and the only vegatation is hundreds of feet below. Never have I been in a location where no matter which way you look, it is only the horizon below.
The song "America the Beautiful" is rather appropriate.
This is why Travel to me is so important, as one has the opportunity to experience new horizons. You actually do retain those thoughts that should never be erased.

Trip Report

Get to Colorado Springs and from Interstate 25 take Hwy 24 East to exit 141. Actually not that far in distance and there will be plenty of signs to direct you to the Cog Railway departure station. From my perspective this trip was enhanced greatly by using the railway.
