South and West of San Francisco is an area of many beaches, many surfers and great scenery that even includes a lighthouse. One does not have to stay in town to enjoy some of San Francisco`s great sites. To top it off there are also some unique restaurants where we took advantage of stopping for a while.

John`s Recollections - 2009

Being from the EAST, I rather thought all areas were like the movies. How surprising, there are few, but this drive portrayed that feeling. Here, you can still see the surfers, and even in one place an abode for what you would call surfer-ites. Scenery along this coastal drive had the lighthouses and a few of those rustic restaurants where movies of the past were made.
