Driving from Loveland to Estes Park - Colorado

Drive took place Sept 4, 2004 from 9 am to about 11 am.
Winding road thru the foothills to the Rocky Mountains

John's Comments Although there was a misty rain in the air the Rockies could be seen in the distance and the foothills provided adequate scenery. Estes Park closer to the Rocky Mountain National Park is a very scenic town and is a great place to stay if touring the area.
John`s Recollections - 2009

Foothills begin soon after you leave Loveland and help to provide the excitement level of approaching the Rockies. Should mention again that the season National Park pass is of great value. This must of been our 5th or 6th usage and savings are now in the hundreds. Estes Park is delightful and with the Rocky mountains in the background it can be awe inspiring.

Today, the Stanley hosts hundreds of conferences and weddings and many thousands of tourist yearly - The Ultimate, Romantic getaway. The Stanley Hotel is one of Colorado*s great old hotels and is listed on the National Register of Historic Districts.
