Drive Interstate 70 - Denver to Utah
Colorado

Trip Planning logo

Drive took place Sept 11, 2004 from 9 am to about 11 am.

John's Comments Literally at some points right thru the Rockies and at certain stages to decrease the footprint, double decker lanes were built. A very scenic drive that passed close to major Ski hills. As one gets closer to the Utah border the land becomes quite flat and the beginning of the Colorado river can be seen.
John`s Recollections - 2009

This trip on Interstate 70 thru the Rocky mountains is actually quite scenic. Two major items are the tunnel and the building of the road at certain times, one almost over the other to allow for the narrow valleys. Many times the mountains appear to be all around you and the names of the towns you pass by are very recognizable. A favorite Interstate drive.
