| John's Comments | Oregon. Scenery on the West Coast is spectacular but non more than the drive from Bandon to the California border. If you travel here, visit the fish hatchery on the Columbia river or drive to the John Day fossil beds. A State with varied landscapes, yet the coastal drive along the Pacific has great scenery corner after corner. Astoria is on the Pacific Ocean at the head of the Columbia river. A good place to stop for a night then drive coastal highway 101 to the California border. A stopover at Bandon is not out of question as this area has some exceptional scenery. |
