Zion National Park - Utah

Protected within the park's 229 square miles is a dramatic landscape of sculptured canyons and soaring cliffs.

John's Trip Comments Another beautiful park. Together with Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon this makes a great threesome to visit. Many walking trails but we chose the Riverwalk and I was not disappointed except for the fact that footwear was not adequate. The Canyons and different colors in this area made for a very enjoyable day. During the summer vacation period a tram is provided to travel up the Canyon to relieve the traffic. This made it much easier to view the surrounding sites and ever closing canyon walls. The park also has an excellent Inn and restaurant within it`s borders.
John's Personal View This park has something for everyone. We took the park bus tour ( only vehicle during summer period ) that allowed one to stop at over 10 dirrerent points during the trip. Walking tours are available at all stops, and the Park Inn provides for tourist shopping also. Extremely scenic area especially with the stream flowing down between the adjacent mountain walls.
John`s Recollections - 2009

The RIVERWALK that we attempted was a highlight, however the canyon walls with various rock types and formations are also memories still there. The bus tour from Springdale allowed for many stops along the way and makes me wonder often as to the items that were missed. One day is not enough to do this park justice, and even next time it will require several more to see items that were missed.
