John's Trip Comments

A great refreshing drive that allowed for many pit stops along the way. A dinner seafood plate along the way helped to create a true north-west Pacific Ocean atmosphere. Took our time on this drive and stopped at many of the sights along the way, and finished with a ferry ride back to the mainland.

John`s Recollections - 2009

This drive is just superb. From Mount Vernon over to Anacortes where a visit to the marina showed an abundance of sailing craft. Deception Pass which separates the mainland from Whidbey Island has many areas to view the tide effect as the water creates major currents through the small opening. Many small towns on the way down the island provide ample restaurants where one can sample the fish dinners that are caught in the area. Taking the ferry back towards Everett completes a drive that most will enjoy.
